GCBC Missionaries

Hi Friends!

After taking the long (cheap) way home via Kuala Lumpur and Makassar, we got here fairly exhausted, but really excited to see all our friends again. It was nice also to realize that here is where we feel most settled.

I, Simon, got to rest and shop for a day before taking off for a week of meetings in Central Java. I had a great time listening to all the exciting things the Lord is doing in this part of the world and thinking through future strategy. I must admit though that my brain didn’t begin functioning properly until about the third day! Some of that might also be to do with trying to wrap my mind around new responsibilities that are landing on my plate.

1. A tribal family using our Skype to talk to a missionary who now lives in Perth. 2. Simon catching up with the newest member of the campus family – Cuuute! 3. Eating together. I’ve enjoyed catching up with the students and seeing how God has been working in their lives. One family in particular has shown me how big God is : They were nearly asked to leave the school last year due to a number of issues. You may remember that I wrote of a couple that didn’t graduate, but we decided to give them another chance and some pretty forthright help. Well…they’re doing great, and what’s more they are thanking God that we held them back!

I know that Anni would appreciate your prayer just now as she strives to catch the kids up with the work they got behind on while on Home Assignment. Please pray also for a tutor who can help us (The two ladies who had previously shown interest are looking pretty uncertain now) – I would so love for Anni to get more opportunity to be out and about, being who she is amongst the people here.
